Okay, so then Buffalo, this is the craziest thing that we saw this year.
Caesar:So here's the craziest thing for me.
Caesar:Okay.
Caesar:So I am walkin, uh, here in town, walked around, down by the water, right by the Harbor, you know, gig Harbor, right.
Caesar:We live in the water and, um, just walk along and this guy comes up to me and he's pretty normal looking, but there's something about it.
Caesar:You kind of go like, eh, A little odd and he hands me an envelope and I'm like, I know I, you know, I don't even want to take it.
Caesar:You know what I mean?
Caesar:I'm not, you know, he's wearing a mask.
Caesar:I'm not, cause we're outside.
Caesar:You don't have to be.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:So he, then he goes and he just goes, there you go.
Caesar:And, and something and going on and, I don't quite get it.
Caesar:And he walks off and I'm like, oh boy, do I even open this?
Caesar:Five crisp $100 bills, no way.

Caesar:Way to start talking about myself in the third person.
Caesar:But I'm with a, I told you I'd have some special guests here to help me wrap up this crazy year.
Caesar:And, uh, I do, I try to keep my word.
Caesar:My yes is usually a yes.
Caesar:So, uh, Heath Hollandsby is with me kind of a tradition.
Heath:This is tradition.
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:year four year.
Heath:Like
Caesar:this is our fourth year end recap, I think.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:And so even though you're not on the show every week anymore, I, uh, I had to have you back to do that.
Caesar:It's so awesome.
Caesar:So we're gonna, we're going to tell you what, what Heath's been up to and what we've been doing and learning and some stuff ahead, and yeah, we're going to have a fun time.
Caesar:You're going to like this.
Caesar:You might even learn something who knows, but I also have another special guest and a you've heard her before.
Caesar:And we like to lovingly referred to has the Tina,
Tina:I am the Tina, which I, you know, that oddly enough, people will come up to me and say, wait, are you the Tina?
Tina:Um yes.,
Caesar:and what they mean by that is Tina, my wife.
Caesar:And so if we're out on the road training or whatever, and it's like, oh, this is Tina.The, Tina.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:So if you happen to be listening to the Everyday Disciple Podcast for the very first time, Probably not, but you know, who knows, maybe you are, this is the Tina of my wife of a million years and a love of my life.
Caesar:So she is on here also to kind of help us recap the year and talk a little bit about the year ahead, I guess.
Caesar:Right?
Caesar:So.
Caesar:And the last episode, I believe it was, but this year 20, 21 has been the year of limbo.
Caesar:Do you know what I mean?
Caesar:Cause like, just when we were just getting ready Heath, you were saying, remember, last year we were wrapping up and we're going like, wow, it seems like this COVID thing's probably going to finally start to come to an end.
Caesar:And we
Heath:a year later it's like, here comes the new variant.
Caesar:Wow.
Caesar:You know, are they going to have to just keep making up variants to keep like wringing money?
Heath:Maybe we're going to be like the film, like in ET where everyone's in like plastic tunnels and tubes.
Heath:And like, that might be whats
Caesar:next.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:I've got some neighbors that live that way already.
Caesar:All right.
Caesar:No, it is.
Caesar:It's been like this crazy year of limbo because I feel like everybody's like, oh, here we are.
Caesar:And we're getting back to some certain nah no we're not.
Caesar:And then like, Hey, we can start doing this again.
Caesar:nah we really can't.
Caesar:Or even if can.
Caesar:People feel like, oh, we can't, or no one will want to, you know, we talk about this in coaching all the time.
Caesar:Like, Hey, do you guys get back into, in your barbecues and all, well, I don't think everybody's ready for that yet.
Caesar:And you know how?
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:Or like even friends that, like, I went for drinks the other night with some friends and it was like hard to get them out of the house.
Heath:Cause now they're just so used to like, it's just easier to do it at home.
Heath:Go get a bottle of something.
Heath:Sit at home.
Heath:Show a card and have this.
Heath:And I forgot my mask and the masks in the car.
Heath:Like
Caesar:I got to tell you this, this is kind of an upgrade maybe to the program with all of the movie theaters getting shut down last year, and now they're back open, but everybody went like, yeah, but I got that 70 inch TV now.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:So even though theaters are back open and we've been kind of holding our breath for the new matrix movie to come out because we're a huge matrix family.
Caesar:Okay.
Caesar:That's my first matrix.
Caesar:That's our favorite movie probably across the board.
Caesar:Maybe not my daughter's, but definitely.
Caesar:the tina and I, and our son.
Caesar:And so we were talking about it last night and all of a sudden, like in the screensaver of our xfinitiy cable thing, it said matrix the new one or a resurrection or whoever available now on HBO, max I'm like that comes with our subscription.
Caesar:And I said, no, they're going, I'm going to go there and it's gonna be $30 or something.
Caesar:No, it started playing.
Caesar:I clicked on away.
Caesar:Yep.
Caesar:So I was like, oh, I'm not ready.
Caesar:It was, it was already like nine o'clock.
Caesar:I'm like, no, no, no.
Caesar:It's a two and a half hour movie I've been waiting for 15, 18 years or whatever it's been.
Caesar:I am, yes.
Caesar:So we may be watching it'll be tonight or tomorrow.
Caesar:So I thought about watching him get up early honey and what the new.
Heath:Christmas morning, man.
Heath:That's how you're going to start it off.
Caesar:So what have you been up to this year?
Caesar:Heath?
Caesar:Like people hear from me all the time.
Caesar:They got to know what's going on though.
Caesar:I'm going to talk about some things that kicked back in.
Caesar:What's been some big movements for you in the Hollandsby clan in 2021.
Caesar:Well, lots
Heath:of, I mean, we haven't moved much just because we've kinda been home.
Heath:Uh, job stuff's changed.
Heath:I started a company which is fun.
Heath:That's new and wow.
Heath:Fun and birthed out of.
Heath:Me just going, I'm going to not do this game anymore.
Heath:I'm gonna start my own thing
Caesar:and as hard as
Caesar:. It's gonna be, yeah, it's gonna be so great.
Caesar:Cause you're gonna run it.
Caesar:And uh, you know, this, this year will be tough year.
Caesar:I'm just going to tell you, as you know, Tina, I've done this a couple of times.
Tina:I was like, it's like having a baby.
Tina:or getting a puppy.
Tina:So, yeah, it's not going to be the easiest thing.
Caesar:I'm so Proud of you.
Heath:I come home, I come over and I see it's like two and two in the afternoon on a Wednesday and you're in a pajamas still.
Heath:And I'm like, I want this life.
Caesar:So if anybody wants their windows cleaned in all 50 states, Heath travel, private jet joke, and he's not doing that.
Heath:So that's new.
Heath:Uh,
Caesar:what are you doing?
Caesar:People are probably wondering.
Heath:So I started an agency called the Muraki agency and that was birthed out of, uh, having worked in marketing for the last couple of years and just growing disorient.
Heath:How crowded and chaotic the digital market advertising side of things is, and as you know, we're story formed people.
Heath:And so I wanted to work with organizations, nonprofits, charities, churches, and really tell like the heart of what they're doing.
Heath:So rather than marketing, like, oh, 50% off for five days, I want to go like, this is why we exist.
Heath:This is who we are.
Heath:This is why we were formed.
Heath:We were birthed out of this pain, whatever that story is, and really tell three to five.
Heath:Short mini documentaries on the existence and the purpose of organizations.
Heath:So that's what we do.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:Cool.
Caesar:I love it.
Caesar:So we'll have to talk price later.
Caesar:You can do one for the Everyday Disciple Podcast doing all right.

Caesar:If it's three to five minutes, we'll need, how many of them to equal the episode now?
Heath:Okay.
Heath:That'll be a lot.
Heath:No, we'll make, we'll make it happen, man.
Heath:So I've been doing that and, uh, traveling a little bit.
Caesar:Travel did open back up.
Caesar:And I know just from talking to you, but also from watching your Instagram feed, you've, you've either been, ganking lots of really awesome photos from Google and posting them as if they're your own or you've been a few.
Caesar:Cool places.
Caesar:Yeah, I've
Heath:done some really cool travel.
Heath:That'd be, that'd be something high that the high of the year was, was getting to go on a trip with my wife.
Heath:That was, it was necessary and it was needed and it was a beautiful place.
Heath:And then, because it was on the heels of not traveling at all last year.
Heath:You know what it's like when you get on a plane as much of a nightmare as TSA is when you finally land where you want to go, it's like, this feels good to be able to do this again.
Heath:Yeah.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:It's been weird getting back to traveling.
Caesar:Cause last year I think we did one little short two day trip.
Caesar:Like there was a little window or something that opened up or whatever it was that earlier this year when we went to Phoenix, Tina was that
Tina:that was earlier this year.
Caesar:Oh my God.
Caesar:It feels like five years ago.
Tina:Seriously January or Febrary
Heath:what is a year anymore?
Caesar:That had been, that had been the first travel in like 11 and a half months or something.
Caesar:And Tina and I traveled a lot training and coaching.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:And all that stuff.
Caesar:And there's been years where I'm on the road, 50% of the time.
Caesar:Not so much these we've got we've clamped that down because the grand babies are here now.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:But finally things have opened back up and it's been a little bit weird and I have to be honest with you.
Caesar:I'm not a hundred percent sure that I like it really.
Caesar:I loved being in the groove of like, wow, I have slept in my own bed for months now.
Caesar:Instead of like, I have times when there's there's a week when I go, like, literally I've slept in four times.
Caesar:I started out in Europe and then I landed here in the states on the east coast, had a couple of things to do Midwest tech, sort of something like that.
Caesar:And you're like, what in the heck?
Caesar:So in many ways, now I'm getting back.
Caesar:But I have been the number one mask wearing hater of the whole COVID era.
Caesar:I can't take it.
Caesar:Like I can't breathe.
Caesar:I feel like I'm just like, I have a pillow
Caesar:over my head.
Caesar:Okay.
Tina:It's like the good and bad of traveling right now.
Tina:Because to get anywhere on a plane, at least you have to wear a mask, but then oftentimes when you get to that place, the masks come off, which that does not happen.
Caesar:Yeah, we were just in Texas and they were
Caesar:like masks, hahaha is it Halloween
Heath:diaper on your
Caesar:face.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:No seriously feel so free.
Caesar:Tennessee Florida.
Caesar:And even though you're supposed to technically wear them in the airports, usually when you get to a city where they don't have a mask, like thing going on, it's about 30% of people wearing a mask and the rest of the people were like, go ahead and say something, try it.
Caesar:You know, like, they're not,
Heath:I dare you.
Caesar:They're not.
Caesar:So you're like, ah, so I we've been that's part of our years.
Caesar:We've been back on the road.
Caesar:Train again and equipping that part.
Caesar:I love that.
Caesar:That's the best thing we get to do our coaching.
Caesar:We love of course, but getting to be face-to-face with a whole lot of the people that we do, coach
Caesar:and train.
Caesar:Now you're telling me about you're going and who you're seeing.
Caesar:And I'm like, oh, they're
Caesar:friends.
Caesar:Tell him, hello.
Caesar:I know it's weird though, is like, we've run into a bunch of people this year that we've been coaching for like two years.
Caesar:Never saw them face.
Caesar:Oh, wow.
Caesar:Right, because that happens sometimes because we're coaching on zoom and all, but generally because people come and stay with us, you know, that we're coaching, you're all invited, you know, even you listeners, you want to come and Seattle and visit, come and say hi, you know?
Caesar:But, uh, so it's really weird being back on the road, but also getting to, you know, like hug somebody in person the first time.
Caesar:And it's like, kind of like, I know you, but I've never met you
. Heath:I didn't think even of that.
Caesar:Yeah, I've had that happen, that sensation in the past, but it feels that way.
Caesar:So I'm not a hundred percent sure if I'm loving the travel.
Caesar:But I would say since things opened back up maybe mid year, we'd been on the road at least every month, at least once or twice, kinda.
Heath:So do you ever get that itch?
Heath:So when you know, we, our background both has us touring.
Heath:I like with Kathleen there's times where.
Heath:Babe.
Heath:I don't know what's going on with me, but I have to leave the city.
Heath:Like I have to get out of here for a day or two it's that itch.
Caesar:I have that I will tell you this, I'm starting to get the weather itch that I've never had here in the Pacific Northwest.
Caesar:Everybody complains.
Caesar:Oh, it rained so much, which is not really true.
Caesar:It's not a true, however, it, we do winter is kind of just gray and drizzly, but it's 45 all winter.
Caesar:I'm from Chicago.
Caesar:So I feel like that's about 45 degrees warmer, you know?
Caesar:Yeah, exactly.
Caesar:Then half my winter.
Caesar:But what I, and I never felt that ever bearing down like, oh, it's so many great days because of the travel.
Caesar:It's like, sure.
Caesar:Well, it breaks it up.
Caesar:I'm out of town every other week or something.
Caesar:And half the time, at least I'm going somewhere warm.
Caesar:So I never have, I haven't felt since moving here that big bearing down of the grayness or any kind of like that, I would say.
Caesar:This year, probably only.
Caesar:Cause I, uh, you know, it's been home a lot more in these gray months now.
Caesar:I mean, it was beautiful summer, right?
Caesar:It was amazing.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:I mean like from like months and months, a month, zero rain, right?
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:It's like the grass would prove that, you know, but, um, I, that I'm starting to feel more than I ever have in the past.
Caesar:Are you too, are you
Tina:as well?
Tina:I, I actually really miss the traveling.
Tina:I am a traveler.
Tina:I would like get, you know, I tried to convince Caesar the other day.
Tina:I'm like, Hey, uh, someone's playing in Kansas city tonight.
Tina:There's a flight.
Tina:We could get on the flight in two hours and be there.
Tina:Like, let's go.
Tina:And Caesar's like what
Caesar:canceled two or three things that day.
Caesar:Cause she was a little under the weather and not sure what it was.
Caesar:Oh.
Caesar:Was like, wait a minute.
Caesar:We canceled that for those people, but we'll go ahead and jam ourselves on your plane now for four hours.
Caesar:Like, I don't know, Merry Christmas, everyone.
Caesar:And then she tried to blame me.
Caesar:Like you never want to be spontaneous.
Caesar:I'm like, I wasn't sick.
Caesar:I actually had the next day off.
Caesar:It could've we could've, you know,
Tina:I do have to send Caesar off.
Tina:Sometimes you can tell when he's getting a little stir crazy.
Tina:So.
Tina:This last summer, I sent him to go stay with my brother and sister-in-law down in Florida for, like a week,
Caesar:now you're dipping into some say you're already dipping in.
Caesar:So we got to do, we did this last year.
Caesar:I think I come in on tradition as well.
Caesar:We've got to do our high, low Buffalo from the past year.
Caesar:Okay.
Caesar:Okay.
Caesar:So for those who are listening, who don't know one of the things we like to do at our table, And we just do it in communities.
Caesar:We do, we used to do it called Hi-lows.
Caesar:And you do your high, low, like what's the best part of your day or the week and then low.
Caesar:What was the worst thing that happened?
Caesar:Or, you know, you felt bad about or whatever, but then somewhere along the line, someone where your coach said, oh, we do high, low Buffalo.
Caesar:And they add the Buffalo part, which is like, what's Buffalo.
Caesar:Well, it rhymes.
Caesar:So it sounds fun, but it's the weirdest thing you've seen.
Caesar:Like it's rare, like buffaloes don't show up for up.
Caesar:So he was like, so now we've kind of upgraded and we do high, low Buffalo, like best thing that happened this year, then we're going to do it for the year.
Caesar:Worst thing lo and then Buffalo.
Caesar:It's the craziest thing.
Caesar:Now last year, I, you know, I have to, it's gonna be hard to top this Heath last year.
Caesar:If you guys are long-term listeners .Heath's Crazy Buffalo thing, he blew me out of the water.
Caesar:I don't even remember what mine was, but he found a shrimp in a can of seven up when I was sick.
Caesar:And he can't even remember, he can't, he can't still believe it.
Caesar:He's told me the day, he's going to ask God how that happened when he got sick.
Heath:That's my number one question.
Heath:I'm not like, Hey, like, even if he's like, Hey, you.
Heath:You're going
Heath:the other place, I'd be like, okay,
Caesar:I understand this substitutionary atonement at this point.
Caesar:Cause I'm with you.
Caesar:So, but that shrimp in the Seven Up can, it's still kind of a mystery.
Heath:So if
Heath:he's like, Hey, you just missed it with, make it into this good place.
Heath:I got to send you down south.
Heath:I'd be like, okay, that's fine.
Heath:Can I ask one last
Heath:question?
Heath:I ran to my seminar go,
Heath:not even a peeled shrim[, like a grocery store, like actual live or not live, but it was like a full.
Heath:Head-on tentacles shrimp
Caesar:so at the anyway, so that was last year.
Caesar:So I, you know, so let's, let's again, let's, let's do our high, low, uh, Buffalo.
Caesar:Um, I will, I'll go first.
Caesar:So the high for my year.
Caesar:And it's been a really great year.
Caesar:I have to say that.
Caesar:So I had to think hard about this.
Caesar:Uh, my high for the year was our youngest.
Caesar:Our daughter Justine got married.
Caesar:Oh yeah.
Caesar:That is awesome.
Caesar:You know, you want, you know, if your kids want to be married in ours, all did it.
Caesar:She had wanted to.
Caesar:And of course there's no good guys in Tacoma or what, you know, it's never going to happen.
Caesar:And that's what Kristen thought until she met Daniel, the love of her life.
Caesar:And he's awesome.
Caesar:Like, he's great.
Caesar:Justine got married to Ben and, uh, you know, she was like, oh, I don't even know how it's going to be to be, not be a Kalinowski.
Caesar:I can't handle this.
Caesar:Well, guess what?
Caesar:Ben is a Zelinsky close enough.
Caesar:So she's like, that's pretty
Tina:cool.
Tina:You know, it gets an upgrade cause the Z is a cool
Caesar:letter Z.
Caesar:And so anyway, so that's the high, it was the really beautiful ceremony on his parents' farm.
Caesar:And like it's a farmette, but it's like all super landscaped and twinkle lights and you know, animals and it was beautiful.
Caesar:Yeah, yeah.
Caesar:Olympia.
Caesar:Oh, wow.
Caesar:Yeah, that's awesome.
Caesar:So that was my high, um, should I do high, low and my Buffalo, or should we go around to our high.
Heath:Well, let's, let's go
Caesar:around.
Caesar:What
Tina:was your high this year?
Tina:So my high this year could have been a low, but it was not, um, because I had a very significant birthday this year.
Tina:Uh, let's just say most people would not want to admit to this birthday.
Tina:number
Caesar:hard turning 40 honey
Tina:oh yeah.
Tina:But.
Tina:Uh, but my brother, the one from Florida actually flew out here with his wife who
Caesar:is,
Tina:um, and they rented, uh, Uh, like beautiful home in the mountains near here, just a couple hours away and then arranged.
Tina:So our whole family got to come out.
Tina:All our kids and stuff got to come out for the weekend on my birthday to celebrate
Caesar:it was like two to three nights on this mountain cabin or not cabin but House, like monster house everything's super appointed game room, hot tub.
Caesar:On the lake.
Caesar:I, you know,
Tina:we just cooked together and hung out for one, one night.
Tina:We went out on my birthday to a really cool little, uh, local resort place.
Tina:And, and that was awesome, but honestly, really amazingly nice meal.
Tina:Um, and then, but then really just hanging out and cooking together and just hanging together was really kind of the team K
Caesar:at our best, that stuff were really good.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:Yeah, but now, you know, there's all the grandkids run around too, and it's fun and it's a
Heath:different environment than it was five years
Caesar:ago.
Caesar:They're just funny and fresh.
Caesar:And, and then of course having Dave, Dave and his wife, Debbie with us, they're the best.
Caesar:And so, but they made that whole thing happen for us and what a gift to a family, but for her birthday.
Tina:So it could, it made what could have been a really.
Tina:Not so fun birthday into a really amazing time,
Caesar:she can't wait to turn 40 again.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:And Dave at 80, we're going to
Heath:do that again, Dave.
Heath:My birthday is October 9th.
Heath:You're curious.
Caesar:How about you?
Caesar:What was the what's the high of this year?
Caesar:Like you go high, a low Buffalo.
Caesar:What's your
Heath:high.
Heath:Yeah, so I had, I was walking this morning making, making the list.
Heath:Okay.
Heath:And there was two that popped out.
Heath:One was a, one was just a personal, like I got my doctorate.
Heath:I mean writing a 200 page dissertation.
Caesar:That's a lot.
Caesar:And so I'm still waiting for you to take that off of your Facebook name or
Heath:my wife's like, you paid for it, you
Heath:earned
Caesar:it, you put it on and I'm like, I'm going to keep asking you like what to do about that sore knee
Heath:I can't prescribe.
Heath:I wish.
Heath:So that was personally, that was a highlight.
Heath:It was
Caesar:a big accomplishment that you worked hard on that.
Caesar:Yeah, I worked a lot.
Caesar:I mean, you really did.
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:But I think my favorite, if you were to have.
Heath:What was your favorite happiest, best moment of this year?
Heath:Me and my wife got to go to the last state I hadn't been to, which was Alaska.
Heath:And I had a client up there them of
Heath:those
Caesar:killer
Caesar:photos.
Caesar:Yeah.
Heath:We were in, we were in Juneau.
Heath:I had, that was the last state that I hadn't been to.
Heath:And I thought I'm just going to sell a contract up here cause I want to go visit.
Heath:And so I did, and we spent a week in Juno and we did like this Tracey arm Fjord tour of the, of the glaciers and there's whales.
Heath:I mean, you and I we've all been around, like, we've traveled quite
Caesar:a bit.
Caesar:I've never been to Alaska
Heath:either, but it was 71 countries, 50 states.
Heath:Now what probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life.
Heath:That's what
Caesar:we keep hearing.
Caesar:And that giant chunk of glacier you brought back, it's been so good in our, yeah, just shipped off it's crystal clear neighbors
Heath:are mad.
Heath:It's still in the driveway, but that was, uh, that was, you know, it was just her and I, we don't get that much anymore with the kids.
Heath:Just to go and have no cell service and just be together and then celebrating the beauty
Caesar:no cell service.
Caesar:It's crazy, right?
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:It was amazing.
Tina:That's so awesome.
Tina:Good on you guys.
Tina:Cause you know, that is, that's really, it's an investment in your marriage, but it's an investment in your family and really in your community.

Caesar:Well, that's a, that's a nice handoff to, we'll go to low.
Caesar:So that was our highs.
Caesar:Here's the lowest I'll go first.
Caesar:Here's my low for the year.

Caesar:We got no real vacation.
Caesar:Oh, Tina and I, we had a few little things, couple of days, you know, here we go there and spend a night or two there, but like, it was kinda like just wedged in, or we tack a day on to like a work trip or something.
Caesar:But, um, and I did get to go down and hang out with Dave, her brother in Florida for a few days, but nottogether
Caesar:and it was a red tide down.
Caesar:There we go to,
Heath:those are awesome.
Caesar:We go to boat.
Caesar:No, they're not because you can't fish.
Caesar:No, but at nighttime they're beautiful.
Caesar:Oh, well I don't get stinky and weird cause there's a million dead fish floating around, so you don't feel as weird.
Caesar:And I kind of primarily go to fish, you know, and see my brother there.
Caesar:But anyway, so that would be my low, this year is cause we're pretty good about trying to cue.
Caesar:Rest.
Caesar:Sure.
Caesar:Before we fill our schedule, we, we really failed at that this year.
Caesar:We did actually do the planning.
Caesar:We just stuffed, I think someone got sick on one of those we had to cancel.
Caesar:And then maybe the wedding date messed up.
Caesar:One of those, when you're happy to do that, it didn't really happen.
Caesar:We got a little bit here.
Caesar:We got a little bit there and I mean, we live a wonderful life.
Caesar:I'm sure not, I'm just saying, but that's.
Caesar:Is that we really need some vacation now, a little silver lining here.
Caesar:Uh, next week we go on vacation, back down to Florida and we're taking our oldest grandson patent for his first grandma and grandpa only trip.
Caesar:Ooh, that'll
Caesar:be that'll even at his age.
Caesar:He'll remember that forever.
Caesar:He's five.
Caesar:Now he's got this.
Caesar:So this might be, I'm already have the high for next year.
Caesar:It could be this trip because he, we were asking him the other day.
Caesar:It's like, what are you most looking for?
Caesar:And he loves his uncle, Dave, her brother, Dave's like a big enough he's everybody see uncle, uncle, he's just silly and funny.
Caesar:He always has been he's the best.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:And the kid, he really gives himself to the kids and they, and they love him for it.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:And he enjoys it and they enjoy him.
Caesar:So he's stoked.
Caesar:So, so what's, what are you most looking forward to the patent says, uh, swimming uncle Dave's pool.
Caesar:And we said, can we sit and go on his boat?
Caesar:And he's like, Hmm, he's less sure of that.
Caesar:Cause he's not a hundred percent sure about boats, but I know if we get him on that boat and he sees dolphins, which is pretty much every time.
Caesar:I don't want to live on the boat.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:He's going to have in the past, so maybe we'll sleep on the wall one night or something.
Caesar:But anyway, so anyway, that was my kind of low, not enough real rest.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:Like I'm so dying for like no cell phone and like a week or two of beaching, like I've queued up everything we're talking about today.
Caesar:Like we have, I don't think week vacations work for us anymore.
Caesar:We, at this point in our life and busy-ness, and like just focus and intensity of ministry and business.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:We need two week vacations, totally a week to scrape off.
Heath:Yeah, that's
Heath:just detox.
Heath:Yeah.
Caesar:That's your site.
Caesar:And then a week to enjoy it.
Caesar:And maybe a couple of days on the end to like, get ready to work.
Caesar:It's not work in this jam.
Caesar:Like work your guts out to the minute you get on a plane and then come home.
Caesar:And literally I'm on the plane, like right in the next podcast and recording it that night, you know, it's like, yeah.
Caesar:It's only me.
Caesar:That was my low.
Caesar:W w what about you?
Caesar:What was the low this year?
Heath:Yeah, you know, I think a low for me was just trying to.
Heath:I mean, it's, it's the, it's the lowest hanging fruit.
Heath:It's, it's just life in this world right now.
Heath:It's raising kids in and a pandemic where it feels like there's no end in sight.
Heath:And I remember I took my daughter to, I took the family to go see a movie in the theater and one of the, the trailers was a.
Heath:Uh, like a two people meeting in a grocery store and my daughter like yelled out in the theater, like, oh, they're not wearing masks.
Heath:And it was like, oh my, it was kind of a sacred moon moment.
Heath:Like, it was kind of like that, like, yeah, like out of the mouth of babes sort of thing, like that is all she knows.
Heath:And me doing walks and seeing people.
Heath:Moving to the street.
Heath:Cause it looks like I have, I
Heath:just had a moment of that the other day we were at Patton's little Christmas sing along thing at school, you know, he's just in preschool and he's on stage and he's got his mask under his chin, but still hooked to his ears.
Heath:Like most of the kids do.
Heath:And as he's walking off without missing a beat, looking at it or even thinking about it, he just reaches under his chin, grabs the math mask and goes point and pops it back onto his mouth, like a pro like he's.
Heath:30 years out of his five years of life.
Heath:And I was a little sad.
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:That's, what's got me down.
Heath:I'm going to be over this.
Heath:And now at the end of the year going like, ah, maybe we're out of it and going.
Caesar:Yeah, no masks are harmed during the recording of this podcast.

Caesar:the low, what was your low for 2021?
Tina:You know?
Tina:Well, my birthday could have been a low.
Tina:It wasn't a low though.
Tina:It wasn't a.
Tina:I think probably my low goes along with yours and that, like, I just feel, and it's not so much, I mean, yes, not getting vacation is hugely just not, not being able to do things because of all the restrictions.
Tina:Like, you know, they're like we have the opportunities to travel to a lot of places.
Tina:If things were not weird, like they are, you know, and so like every time we want to go somewhere because.
Tina:COVID or because of, you know, how all these travel restrictions and stuff, it's like, you just feel like you're constantly, you know, you can't, oh, well we could do this.
Tina:We could do all this.
Tina:Oh.
Tina:Except, you know, we can't do it because of this.
Tina:And I, you know, what kind of.
Tina:I was thinking about this the other day, it kind of feels like, I think what some people must have felt like under the communist regime, like I never realized this before, but like, you know, where they couldn't just go on vacation because they wanted to go, they had to like, you know, get clearance from a hundred different things and, and
Caesar:we're not experiencing living under communism.
Caesar:No,
Tina:no, but it's just all these hoops that we've have to jump through now that we've never had to do
Caesar:past.
Caesar:Yeah we are so social.
Caesar:So raging extrovert that, even that decrease though, we kind of roll through it.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:We're starting to realize, you know, like there's all this crazy divorce and depression out there and it's like, well, praise God, that's not our story, but you know, it's taken more of a toll on us.
Caesar:I think that we know.
Tina:Yeah.
Tina:I think so.
Tina:Added on to that.
Tina:And this is probably where my real big, low is.
Tina:I injured my knee in March and that has like put a huge kink in all of the rest of the, every thing.
Tina:That's probably the biggest low.
Tina:Yeah.
Caesar:Cause your normal ease of flitting around and being super grandma in
Tina:anything, lift up my grandkids.
Tina:Yeah, I can't really walk a whole lot and
Caesar:know that, that new bionic knee come on,

Caesar:So then Buffalo, this is the craziest thing that we saw this year.
Caesar:So here's the craziest thing for me.

Caesar:So I'm on, uh, I'm here in town and walk around, down by the water, right by the Harbor, you know, gig Harbor right here, live in the water and, um, just walk along and this guy comes up to me and he's pretty normal looking, but there's something about it.
Caesar:You kind of go like, yay.
Caesar:Little odd and he hands me an envelope and I'm like, I know I, you know, I didn't want to take it.
Caesar:You know what I mean?
Caesar:I'm not, you know, he's wanting to ask, I'm not, cause we're outside.
Caesar:You don't have to be right.
Caesar:So he, then he goes and he just goes, there you go.
Caesar:And, and something I'm ehhmm.
Caesar:I don't quite get it.
Caesar:And he walks off and I'm like, oh boy, do I even open this?
Caesar:And I open it up five crisp, $100.
Heath:No way.
Caesar:No, it's not true.

Caesar:We did see big foot out in the woods here behind her house.
Caesar:And I was like, that'd be amazing too.
Caesar:It's not even real, but we saw that and he was, well, he was getting off the spaceship, you know, UFO.
Caesar:He like, no, no, I don't have, I don't have a Buffalo.
Caesar:I'm sorry.
Caesar:And I think it's partly, I couldn't think of one.
Caesar:I was living in the shadow of finding a shrimp in the 7up.
Caesar:Can I can't ask that?
Caesar:I don't know.
Caesar:I like it's weird, man.
Caesar:That's yeah, that's a history.

Caesar:And I thought, you know, Tacoma is just one of those things where I've seen a lot of weird stuff this year, but it's also just Tacoma.

Caesar:would say something that I've seen too.

Heath:I'll tell you a weird thing.
Heath:I'll tell you a Buffalo thing that when I describe it, people look at me like I'm a foreign
Heath:entity and it's I did a water D I did this water fast.
Heath:40 days, no food.
Heath:Just, I know, I remember a picture of water, a
Caesar:gallon of, I don't really want it to sporting events together and had meals together.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:No beer, no
Heath:food, no nothing.
Heath:And then I broke it with some goat yogurt, you know, I think we had something here.
Heath:Yeah.
Caesar:That was the first day you were here.
Caesar:I first had your goat yogurt and you were stoked.
Caesar:Yeah, I had some, I get three teaspoons
Heath:of this Stevia on my goat, but I just, to me, that was the weirdest cause you know, it's funny as I woke up, I don't tell people why I did this, but I woke up one morning and you're supposed to ease into that, like two to three weeks of like detox.
Heath:And I woke up about to catch a flight and I couldn'tmove my legs.
Heath:Paralyzed.
Heath:And I was like, I gotta, I gotta go on a fast, I just slept weird the night before.
Heath:Like that's all it was there back to normal, but it spurred, I mean, cold Turkey, 40 days, no juice, no lemon in my water.
Heath:Just water.
Heath:And.
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:They're like, how's that possible?
Heath:I'm like, well, you had no problem doing it with Jesus.
Heath:Did it like why?
Heath:Can't like, I literally just didn't eat now.
Heath:Your Jesus.
Heath:All right.
Heath:I was going to go 41 days.
Heath:Just one outfit, but I couldn't.
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:So I think that was the weirdest.
Heath:I mean, I've seen a lot of weird stuff, but that was.
Heath:That was one that when I tell people, well, everyone seems shocked.
Heath:Like
Caesar:it's pretty rare.
Caesar:I've done a little fasting in my life.
Caesar:I think maybe a week has been my record.
Caesar:I have no desire and I drink by seven up in it though.
Caesar:I'm kind of skinny, fat.
Caesar:I could probably use a good fare, so you'd be fine.
Caesar:But know that that's a weird one.
Caesar:That's kind of weird, but you also chose
Heath:that.
Heath:So I can never want up the, the shrimp, the story.
Caesar:Well, let's hope let's only hope who knows what next year, when we lived in New York and a friend of ours had told us this early on and it was true, he goes, oh, you're going to have plenty of what we call New York moments.
Caesar:I'm like, what do you mean?
Caesar:He goes, you'll know.
Caesar:Oh.
Caesar:And it was once a week, you'd get some really crazy thing you'd run into, or some person dressed like, uh, who knows what, you know, circus clown space alien.
Caesar:Uh, priests were in a, you know, a fright wig.
Caesar:I mean, it's just the weirdest stuff where people walk up to you and start to engage you in conversations that like, you're like, I don't know what you're talking about, you know?
Caesar:And they're not
Heath:like intentionally trying to be weird.
Heath:They're just weird.
Caesar:Or like you're on the subway and they have a couch or something.
Caesar:Cause they're trying to get it home and it's like totally illegal, but they just shut it in and you're like, excuse me, excuse me.
Caesar:Could you pick up that Anchorage?
Caesar:But every day almost, it was like, oh, that's bizarre.
Caesar:You won't even call it a Buffalo.
Caesar:Yeah, you're just like
Tina:we did do the couch, not on the subway.
Tina:We just walked it down the street, but it was like a sectional couch.
Tina:And you remembered the couch that we had in New York.
Tina:And so it was like, Cushions and all these pieces that we had only three of us.
Tina:And so we were walking it from like two blocks away from your back and back and forth and back and forth.
Tina:Yeah, sadly
Caesar:enough.
Caesar:You're running into people moving there for a short while you're moving yours.
Caesar:It's like,
Tina:so my Buffalo was, it was, it's one of the weirdest experiences of my life.
Tina:I have to say.
Tina:I was, I know it was just kind of very odd.
Tina:I was, we were at a, an event and sitting in like a little, uh, auditorium and some people that we kind of knew were next to us and they had their kids they're sitting there and their youngest daughter and I were, you know, like just had kind of struck up this.
Tina:She was probably, I don't know, I'm guessing around two-ish right.
Tina:Two or three, two, maybe three.
Tina:And so we were kind of playing together and she was really captivated by my sparkly nails.
Tina:And so.
Tina:Yeah, sparkly nail Polish.
Tina:Right?
Tina:So she's like grabbing my nails and look at him and like turning them around and everything.
Tina:And she's got a hold of my thumb and she's really looking at, and all of a sudden she just leans over and licks my thumbnail.
Caesar:I think it was candy.
Tina:Like it was like an ice cream cone or something.
Tina:Like, it looked, you know, it's pink and glittery.
Tina:It must've tastes good.
Tina:Right.
Tina:So, and then, and then she just like looked at back and kind of took another quick thing and then let it go.
Tina:And off she went, that's pretty
Heath:wild.
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:What are the, what are the parents do?
Heath:I don't even think they noticed.
Heath:Oh yeah.
Tina:She was just sitting next to me.
Tina:And so, yeah.
Tina:I don't even think they notice we were all
Caesar:just the average person could go three months on a.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:Tina got a lease three months out of that.
Caesar:Like she was so stoked.
Caesar:Like, oh look, you licked my thumb here.
Caesar:Like
Heath:that sounds like something severe enthusiasm episode, something weird like that.
Heath:Yeah,
Caesar:I know.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:And there again, in the age of COVID you really, I don't
Tina:know.
Tina:Weird.
Tina:And I was like, oh, she likes my nail.
Tina:Polish
Caesar:was great.
Caesar:It was perfect.
Heath:schnoz berries various tastes like schnoz berries.
Heath:Awesome.
Heath:Exactly.

Heath:Um, we don't have to go too crazy deep here, but this is also kind of a tradition.

Heath:Um, what did, what do you think you've learned about God or yourself this year?
Heath:Yeah, good little introspective here.
Heath:We're cutting work.
Heath:We're bringing it down.
Heath:We're bringing down the room and we put the soundtrack in.
Heath:He makes sure the music is appropriate.
Heath:Do you want to go?
Tina:You know, I would say the thing that I have learned or that God has really made so much more evident to me this year is how.
Tina:Much.
Tina:He loves me.
Tina:And I don't mean to just say, you know, like, you know, yeah, we go yet.
Tina:God loves you, but like loves me in a way that is so far beyond anything I've ever imagined.
Tina:And that, that I can do pretty much anything that's in front of me.
Tina:Without fear without fear or without worry, or like that, that I am like that little child.
Tina:And I guess maybe it's because of my grandkids and just like understanding the love that I have for them and how like they not to say that they can do no wrong, but like that they have a lot of choices and sometimes I'm like, well, you can do this or you can do this, or you can do this or this.
Tina:I don't care, which one you do.
Tina:I just want you to be happy doing that thing and I'll do it with you.
Tina:And so, and I think that's, I've really started to understand God's heart that way that he, he, it's not like we have one path that we can walk in.
Tina:It's only if we do the one thing that God's going to be happy.
Tina:Like there are so many opportunities that we have to do things that God has created us for, uniquely gifted us for, and we can choose any of those.
Tina:And he is going to love us and be.
Tina:All the way and, and that's just taken so much pressure off of me, I think just under not feeling like, oh, I've got to make sure I'm doing, the right thing
Caesar:and what I'm hearing is grace.
Caesar:It's just like, you're like receiving that.
Caesar:You're like, you know, I can just live in light of his favor and his love for me.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:Earn it or prove it.
Caesar:That's beautiful, honey.
Caesar:That's amazing.
Caesar:Even though it sounds so simple, like for me, it's like, are you kidding?
Caesar:That's like the huge,
Tina:yeah.
Tina:I think, I think the, I think it goes from acknowledging love, like in my head, like, yeah, I know God loves me to like really feeling loved and feeling accepted regardless of.
Tina:What I do, you know, like, and, and also feeling free to be able to do what God has created me to do with the utmost joy and, and experience, you know, all that joy while I'm doing it.
Tina:Even if it's like
Caesar:licking someone's finger or being licked and
Heath:being like, I'll give you 50 bucks next year.
Heath:If you lick somebodies nail.
Heath:It's cute when you're a kid, but it's weird
Caesar:when you're an adult, she had done it for 20 bucks, 50 bucks.
Caesar:All right, here it is right now.
Caesar:Go ahead.
Caesar:all right.
Caesar:How about you, Heath?
Caesar:Yeah,
Heath:so I think it's kind of a variation of what you were saying, but for me, Uh, and this sounds what I'm about to say sounds very simple, but for me, this was the biggest mountain of my life.
Heath:Wow.
Heath:And it was learning to be kind to myself.
Heath:Um, just, you know, I get the God loves me.
Heath:I'm resonating with that.
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:Like I get, God loves me, but I also grew up in a, you know, pull yourself out constantly for others, serve others at the point of not loving yourself or not, not protecting yourself or not take treating yourself kindly.
Heath:And so.
Heath:I had just done a lot of deep work this year.
Heath:Uh, there's a old philosopher I've been really into named Alan Watts, who is talking about the importance of being present.
Heath:And, and most of my life is either looking and staring at the past, which is regret or looking forward to the future.
Heath:And you can't do anything.
Heath:You can't do anything about it and worrying about the future.
Heath:It's like, no, this is what we have.
Heath:That had led me to going, okay, I'm going to be present.
Heath:And what's it look like to be a present parent where I don't have to correct every single bickering moment between my kids as if it's a morality police and just loving my kids and, and being kind to them.
Heath:But I was always kind to others and I never knew how to really be kind to myself.
Heath:And so I've been trying to do a lot of that deep work of self care.
Heath:I think that.
Heath:But really seeing the value of like no taking care of yourself, like eating healthy, getting exercise
Caesar:fasting for 40 days.
Caesar:Holy cow is that, what I gotta do to like, love myself.
Caesar:I hope that's not part of my list.
Heath:You know?
Heath:Like, and being not so hard on myself, like trying to see the grace for myself and the way that I think that God sees grace to me.
Heath:Cause I could always talk about somebody else seeing grace in me, but I can never figure out how to do.
Heath:How to like, turn that on myself.
Heath:And so to being able to go, like actually kind of like myself and I'm like, it's okay to, that is huge.
Heath:It's huge, man
Heath:is like, and it seems like 1 0 1, but
Caesar:just recently I felt like I was started tap me on that in the last couple of weeks.
Caesar:Like I read something where it said something about, you think about this.
Caesar:Are you kind to yourself?
Caesar:And I was like, mine don't think I am, no me neither.
Caesar:You know?
Caesar:And then I was like, ah, it probably doesn't make me as kind to others.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:Anyway, so I re I'm resonating with you.
Caesar:That was a big one for me pray for mein that.
Caesar:Likewise.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:I mean, serious like that.
Caesar:That's a huge one.
Caesar:I want those.
Heath:Well, I got a 87% on that.
Heath:It's no, this is a lifelong work.
Heath:I mean, it's, it's, it's constantly like, it's not like I figured it out back in 2021
Caesar:and there's, there's a weird, pragmatic edge to that.
Caesar:At least the way my brain process it.
Caesar:It's like if God has completely in love with youme, Tina and completely kind and, you know sure.
Caesar:Then why would we not, how can we hold ourselves to a higher standard than our creator?
Caesar:Totally.
Caesar:How weird is that?
Caesar:And how many pastors do you know that are just burning out?
Caesar:Marriage is falling apart.
Caesar:Don't know their kids like pastors are not just people.
Caesar:It's people.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:I think I just worked a lot with the ministry side.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:I've seen these guys declaring this from stages and they can't figure it out for themselves.
Caesar:And like, that's not going to be me.
Caesar:So I either have to figure this thing out or I got to find something else.
Caesar:Well, you heard it here for
Caesar:fast for 40 days.
Caesar:We're going
Heath:to love yourself.
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:Try my 40 day fasting plan.
Caesar:I just, in the last couple of weeks, I've had that same kind of like, like I think God's like talking to me about that.
Caesar:So I appreciate that.
Caesar:I'll take that as, uh, from confirmation.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:I would say for me this year, um, This has been a lifelong thing, maybe like you're saying, but the way I was raised in the year, like my dad was born in 1930 and then depression and all that, we've all always been raised with.
Caesar:And I definitely inherited like a scarcity mentality.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:No, our lives is amazing.
Caesar:You know, like we've never missed a meal, you know, lots of clothes live in a beautiful home, you know, great all that this year.
Caesar:God has helped me turn the corner on that.
Caesar:I'm not saying it's fixed or it's over, but I'm really starting to believe like, you know, every year of our life seems better than the last I, why would that ever stop?
Caesar:Like, you know, how'd you realize, why am I striving for, you know, EV even, yeah, well, I think I will.
Caesar:I realize which, which thing that I can rest in it, or that I have this,
Heath:because like, we've talked about scarcity versus abundance for years.
Heath:Same thing with what I just said, like I talked about this for years and it's.
Heath:The old cliche of like, it's gone from your brain, it dropped down into your heart and it sounds like that's happening for you.
Heath:Is, was it like we watched a documentary or I had a
Caesar:conversation and, or I think it really is the work of the gospel to believe what's true of God.
Caesar:And of course, and then what he says is true of us, but I really do believe I'm like a dearly loved son.
Caesar:So, and then like with that, but if I believe then if I believe that and we're co heirs and he owns it all, and then I look at the evidence of our life and how we live.
Caesar:Oh, why would I ever stress that?
Caesar:But there's always been that underlying.
Caesar:And I like, even today, I remember thinking like, Hey, we've had a really wonderful year of ministry in life and, you know, finances, all the bills got paid this year.
Caesar:Great.
Caesar:And we're, it's all been fine, you know, and yet I'm kind of like, ah, but what about January yeah, waiting for that.
Caesar:Heck you know, why would I in, in, in T and I had talked this morning and I just said, like, I'm really have a very strong sense that the father's going, don't worry about that.
Caesar:Cause I was like, I didn't get this done this month.
Caesar:I didn't get this done this year.
Caesar:We were, we talked about doing that this year and I didn't get this work done.
Caesar:And, but I have this peace of like, yeah, it's okay.
Caesar:And it kind of goes with.
Caesar:Be kind to yourself about this because you can, cause you're not your own provision.
Caesar:Totally son,
Heath:you think God's like, well, he's going to have the top ramen this month.
Heath:Cause he didn't work hard
Caesar:enough.
Caesar:No, I think there's work to do there.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:I would say that's the biggest thing I've learned about myself and God in this last years.
Caesar:I think, I think I'm finally starting to turn thecorner, boy oh boy late in life.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:You know, like how many years am I going to live in abundance?
Caesar:Feeling like it's all going to fall off.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:It's all gonna fall apart.
Caesar:You're like, no, it's not.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:And if it did, it would probably be better somehow, you know, does counseling.
Caesar:He only does what scoots.
Caesar:Oh yeah.
Caesar:That would be probably blind.
Caesar:So that's beautiful.
Caesar:Anyway.
Caesar:Well, Hey, to, uh, to start to wrap things up real fast, what are you looking forward to in the next year personally?
Caesar:And then I'm going to, then I'm going to tell you a little bit about.
Caesar:Is coming ahead in, on the podcast, at least in the new year, at least the plan.
Caesar:So, yeah.
Heath:Yeah.
Heath:I think I'm looking forward to watching this business grow and knowing like, I mean, we're still young and new and, um, but it's hopeful.
Heath:I mean, things are starting to lift already, which is kind of exciting.
Heath:I think from a, from a core of who I am, I'm really looking forward to like spending time growing in that the love for myself, the kindness towards myself, Because I've recognized, like if I can't be kind to myself, then my kids don't get to, like, I can fake it for so long, but eventually they're going to go like, yeah.
Heath:You know, dad just always had, they're going to be smart at 35 years old.
Heath:Like it was a facade, right.
Heath:You know, like yeah.
Heath:Or they
Tina:won't learn to be kind to themselves.
Tina:They'll always feel that like, they have to be really harsh on themselves as well.
Tina:Cause they're watching
Caesar:your example, hold yourself to crazy account.
Caesar:Yeah, that's
Heath:what I told Kathleen.
Heath:I was like, you can't fake it.
Heath:It's like the dad who's like who drinks in the closet?
Heath:And he's like, I'm not an alcoholic.
Heath:No you are, you just hide it and it's going to get everyone to know or outside, like everyone knows.
Heath:And so that's one thing for me is like the importance of being present of going.
Heath:This is the moment that we have right now.
Heath:And so enjoy it and be kind to yourselves and love one another.
Heath:Yeah, they do.
Caesar:Well, brother, I'm with you on that.
Caesar:And this spirit reminds me of, I be praying for that, please.
Caesar:Really an abundance, but it's coming.
Caesar:I can feel it.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:Thanks.
Caesar:How about you, honey?
Caesar:What's uh, what are you looking forward to in this.
Caesar:Well,
Tina:I'm looking forward to booking some vacation time.
Tina:That would be definitely high on the list.
Caesar:Vacation coming up technically starts like on new year's Eve.
Tina:Yeah.
Tina:New year's Eve where we're
Caesar:leaving on vacation vacation week.
Tina:Yep.
Tina:Yep.
Tina:So that's, that's
Caesar:a good start
Tina:way to do it.
Tina:Uh, I'm definitely looking forward to.
Tina:Um, just getting to be, uh, you know, given, you know, what I've been learning about, you know, last year and the way that God has revealed, just getting to be who I am more like, and just enjoy the things that the way that God has made me.
Tina:And so, like, I've always said, you know, I wish I could just figure out how to get paid to be a grandma.
Tina:Like, can I just figure out how.
Tina:To get paid well, and I, and I feel in a way that God is just saying, Hey,
Caesar:they just start kicking in a little,
Tina:but I feel like God is saying, Hey, I've already paid the way.
Tina:Like, you know, like you can be just, just be a grandma.
Tina:And that doesn't mean that I won't work.
Tina:I mean, I can't ever see us.
Tina:not Doing what we do in ministry and stuff, but I just, I just want to, like you were saying, be able to relax and enjoy the moments more and not, not like worry
Caesar:about it.
Caesar:That's exactly where I'm at for the new year, because with this sense of awareness of like, I don't have to live with a scarcity thing, like really I'm looking forward to enjoy.
Caesar:This amazingness at a deeper level.
Caesar:I think I enjoy my life and I enjoy, we do a hundred percent in our family, life, nuts and community and all that.
Caesar:But, uh, just the, that layer coming off, it's almost like a shadow.
Caesar:I feel like it's always just been there my whole life.
Caesar:You know, it was, it was on my folks.
Caesar:It was on my grandparents.
Caesar:It was that.
Caesar:I, that really is what I'm most looking forward to, along with some rest.
Caesar:And that's part of being kind to yourself as you get to rest.
Caesar:I, we were talking about how we can pull off this two week vacation a couple times, two or three times this year instead of a week, right.
Caesar:From a practical practice.
Caesar:So I'm like, I'm looking forward to that.
Caesar:I'm looking for like, wow, we even had it.
Caesar:Like vacation vacation in a really long time.
Caesar:But I think we can of, that's how we fill up our schedule with coaching and podcast delivery and other stuff, you know, in the incubator and all anyway.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:There's a lot going on, but it's like, and use to help me batch these things a lot more.
Caesar:Now I'm kind of on a week to week basis, you know, every once in a while I'll do two in a row, but you and I used to like sit down and knock out four or five in a day.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:Maybe I'm looking forward to Heath coming back full time to the Everyday.
Caesar:I don't know, but, uh, I'm looking forward to enjoying all the goodness that we do have and the work we get to do at a whole new level of just ease.
Caesar:That's what I'm most looking forward to.
Caesar:I think it just experiencing grace at another layer and another layer.
Caesar:Yeah,
Tina:you're saying it really like, like, I feel like God's really speaking to me right now.
Tina:Like we're in the Bible.
Tina:It says that the sins of the generation.
Tina:You know, or visit upon the
Caesar:father seven generations.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:Right.
Tina:And like, this really is a, a generational thing in your family, this whole feeling of scarcity, like from probably even your, your,
Caesar:your grandmother.
Caesar:I don't think our kids lived this way.
Caesar:Maybe I'm the last generation.
Caesar:And so I'm seeing God, bro.
Caesar:I hope so.
Tina:I hope so, but I, you know, family
Caesar:all came over from Poland and the boots getting put to them forever, seriously.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:And then he finally made it here and then some
Tina:people might say, oh, but the scarcity mentality is not a sin, but really the sin is the unbelief in God's provision.
Tina:And so if we believe that all that, that sin is unbelief about what's true about God and what's therefore then true about us, then the unbelief is truly sin unbelief in that.
Tina:Or the belief that God is not going to provide is not somehow a good father that's going to provide for you.
Tina:And so I, I just had that like moment of like, oh my goodness.
Tina:Like I never really put that in the category of what we would consider sin because most people consider sin, like the acts of doing something, you know,
Caesar:living with unbelief once that it's not like it's.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:It's like that little it's that
Tina:creepy crawly.
Caesar:that little distortion that just running there, it's kind of robbing
Tina:your in your
Caesar:ear.
Caesar:You know, if anybody's hearing this and goes, I don't live that way.
Caesar:I don't understand it.
Caesar:But if you do you know exactly what I'm talking about, it's just like a
Heath:little neat.
Heath:You know, it's funny as you were talking, I was thinking about the words of the F the, the prodigal son, the, the words of the father to the oldest son.
Heath:Hey, you, you didn't have to go.
Heath:This has always been yours.
Heath:You know what I mean?
Heath:That's exactly it, brother.
Heath:And we forget that.
Heath:It's like, well, well, yeah, no, thank you.
Heath:Everything I have has always been yours.
Heath:It's like, you've got the ring, you've got the robe come party.
Heath:Like I can't
Caesar:go there every day.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:It's yours, man.
Caesar:So that, yeah, that's what I look forward to.
Caesar:So listen, in the new year ahead, it's hard to believe.
Caesar:But in February we will be having our five-year anniversary of the podcast.
Caesar:Woo start out, call the life school podcast.
Caesar:And then we decided how young we were.
Caesar:Tina was only like 30 then.
Caesar:So yeah, so five years.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:So I can't even believe that I was just hearing something recently.
Caesar:The, uh, if, if you've done more than 40 podcasts, you're in the top 1% of the million podcasts or something like that.
Caesar:Right.
Caesar:And so with your help in many others in our guests.
Caesar:So I thankful to everyone who's been on and helped.
Caesar:And, uh, I really do love doing this.
Heath:We'll have to do an anniversary party.
Heath:That'd be fun.
Heath:Let's do that.
Caesar:Let's do an anniversary episode and get everybody who's ever been on the show back
Heath:to 16 hour episode,
Caesar:one sentencing.
Caesar:Uh, yeah, but, uh, so anyway, I'm very excited about that just to get to new year and I'm feeling a sense that it's, um, it's time to start laying some foundations again, like, was we, you know, we're not exactly the same listeners that were with us five years ago and some are, and some are brand new.
Caesar:Uh, life has changed so much in these last two years.
Caesar:Like we've been talking, um, and culture and all that, and there's a whole lot more people looking towards life and community and making disciples now is from a church and Christian perspective.
Caesar:So like, yes, like our prayers have been answered, you know, we're finally turning our eyes to that.
Caesar:So I'm feeling like in the year ahead, we're going to start relaying some of the foundational stuff that we were like, eh, we talked about that.years ago.
Caesar:And part of that comes from in our coaching.
Caesar:We've been talking a lot to our coaching people like, Hey, in your communities, in your church, where do you need to begin at the beginning with people that are just coming into the stream of life on mission and discipleship is a lifestyle.
Caesar:You can't just always go for the gold and try to drop bombs and go for the new.
Caesar:And so there's going to be a little of that.
Caesar:I've also got some series plans.
Caesar:I've got at least two series.
Caesar:Seven eight part series.
Caesar:Oh.
Caesar:And I'm not sure if I'll do them straight in a row or I'll say, okay, this is another part of that series.
Caesar:And I might not do them in a row, but then eventually we'll put them together and like play lists or even make them available as a download or something.
Caesar:I don't know, you know, separate, but, so I'm looking forward to some of that last year I said I was gonna try a few new things.
Caesar:I tried a new feature this year called something.
Caesar:Something to think about.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:I think it was those call.
Caesar:Was it?
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:I never got any feedback.
Caesar:So I think that that was like fun for me, but maybe no one else.
Caesar:I got zero feedback.
Caesar:Like that sucks where I love to give him feedback.
Caesar:Yeah, no, it's okay.
Caesar:They just, it was just like little quirky things.
Caesar:Clarified some things.
Caesar:So while there's something about it, you know, so I don't think that clicked or was any big joy so I'm like I'm here to serve.
Caesar:So, but, uh, I am looking forward to some of these series where we get to build upon something, just a little hint.
Caesar:Cause one of them we started, I did, uh, no, I don't know, four or five episodes back.
Caesar:I did a celebration according to the gospel.
Caesar:And so one of the series and I'm probably most excited about this is I'm going to do a whole lot of things in life, according to the.
Caesar:Oh, cool.
Caesar:So there'll be like racism, according to the gospel and marriage, according to the gospel and parenting, according to gospel and, uh, scarcity according, you know, like really go after those topics, but like, how do they ask?
Caesar:Well, speaks directly to them.
Caesar:Cool.
Caesar:So kind of in the gospel fluency, right?
Caesar:Sort of stuff.
Caesar:So I'm excited about that.
Caesar:And I got a couple other series kind of plans
Heath:coming along anyway.
Heath:So moving the big three to the big 300, so 300 takeaways from
Caesar:every episode.
Caesar:No, I don't think we're getting rid of the big three.
Caesar:That seems to still be a favorite and I love doing good.
Caesar:Yeah.
Caesar:It's good.
Caesar:Easy takeaway.
